If You Only Have One Day to Sight See in Las Vegas

In the City of Las Vegas, a one day visit can truly stretch an entire 24 hours! One of the most unique cities on earth; the bright lights and excitement of this city never end with the passing of the hands of a clock. Let’s explore the sites in a fun-packed 24 hours.

As you start your day, take advantage of the slower morning pace inside the casinos. It’s an excellent time to explore the fabulous architecture without the crowds. If you’re not comfortable with casino gaming, but would like to try your hand at games such as blackjack, craps, or roulette, the morning hours are less busy and most casinos actually offer free lessons during this time. A great way to start your day would also be to ride the city transit bus – The Deuce. It was placed into service by the city to provide easy and inexpensive travel up and down the tourist areas of the Las Vegas Strip and downtown Fremont Street. For just $2.00 a ride, you can enjoy the sites and have a seat without a crowd (evening hours are very congested on The Deuce – especially to Fremont Street).

After exploring, and perhaps gaming, head to the pool for some relaxation. Las Vegas is well known for its fabulous pools and the morning hours are always less crowded. If you prefer a spa visit, they open early (usually just after closing late at night) and there are no limits to the spa options available.

Lunch can be had easily on the Strip as the city is known for having some of the finest dining in the world. From small cafes to the trendiest restaurants, they’re all available for your culinary experience. Many people find it hard to leave Las Vegas without partaking in a buffet. All of the Strip buffets are fabulous and mid-day pricing is about half the cost of evening dining. You might be tempted to partake in the 1200 pounds of crab legs served daily at the World Buffet inside the Rio Resort and Casino!

The afternoons are a perfect time to escape the Strip and visit some of the natural beauty that abounds within a short distance to the Strip. The easiest and closest destinations are Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Pink Jeep offers tours to both!

It’s the evening and night times that Las Vegas pulls out all the stops and transforms itself into one of the most colorful and glamorous cities on earth. With over 15,000 miles of neon light tubing and hundreds of LED displays, bring out the camera and enjoy the sites! You can spend hours walking the Strip and gazing around, but we’re on a time table today.

One of my favorite places to eat is Mon Ami Gabe. Located on the outside of the Paris Casino, this French restaurant offers one of the best sight-seeing spots in the city, overlooking the famed fountains at Bellagio. The food is really good and moderately priced. The restaurant is also regularly voted as one of the best places to ‘People Watch’ in Las Vegas.

After dinner, head into one of the hundreds of bars or nightclubs and enjoy signature cocktails, craft beers, or non-alcoholic wonders. Live music is plentiful. Of course, you may also want to make time for a show. Las Vegas is the live entertainment capital of the world and any night can feature dozens of the world’s most well-known entertainers all performing at sold-out venues all over town. Live theater such as Cirque du Soleil is available by the dozens as well. Were you aware that Las Vegas has eight different Cirque shows?

As the night continues, head into any of the casinos and enjoy the sights and sounds of the action at its peak hours. It’s here that you will truly realize that there is no place like Las Vegas. Try your luck and enjoy the complimentary cocktails before heading back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest. You may find it hard to sleep – even after such a busy day – as you relive the excitement and splendor known as Las Vegas.
